I laughed at God the first time He gave me a microphone and then he continued doing it. Speaking is not my natural gift. But I am proof that if The Lord can use me, He can use you!! Thank you to Mrs. Kadra Parkman for opening up Sweet P’s for us today and allowing us to use her beautiful land! Thank you to Patrick Craig and Brookie Britton for leading us in an amazing time of worship. Thank you to Brooke Freeman who set up and organized the whole thing!! Thank you to every mom and every girl that has helped make Girl Talk all that it is! Most importantly, thank You Lord for who You are and for this amazing opportunity and the amazing blessing of living and breathing in all that You have for us! I couldn’t imagine having a better ending to this amazing summer than ending in worship with these amazing girls!! Girl Talk has stolen my heart and I am so blessed and honored that I get to do this for the rest of my life!!
Greater things have yet to come, greater things are still to be done in this city!
God takes our weaknesses and makes them strengths! He takes our broken places and makes them the brightest places to shine!! My biggest struggle and biggest weaknesses have to do with anxiety and believing satan’s lies over God’s truths. Philippians 4:8 is my go to verse. I have to constantly repeat this in my head “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” For some reason doing that is so hard for me. It is so easy to believe I am not good enough or to believe whatever I am doing is annoying the person I love most and they are going to leave me at any moment. Something Mrs. Virginia told me once is that when you can’t decide what is true and honorable, think about this: God will never say anything to you that He wouldn’t say to His Son.
Would God tell Jesus that He isn’t good enough? Or He isn’t worthy of someone’s love?
Those thoughts are not true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, or admirable. They aren’t excellent or worthy of praise. I am not good enough but that is why Christ died for me. I am good enough for Christ to die for me and that’s as good as I need to be. Who cares about being good enough for anyone else. I am good enough for Christ. And Christ’s death forgives my sins, He steps in front of me and one day I will be good enough to enter into Heaven because of that! You are good enough! You are not worthy of God’s love but He loves you. If God can love you, if the creator of the universe finds you worthy enough to love then the people on Earth who are worth it will love you. You are worthy of love. And you are worthy of respectable love, not cheep dirty love. Don’t sell yourself short. Listen to God and know that you good enough for Him, you are loved by Him! He will give you the people you need, the people who deserve your love, and He’ll lead you to the love you need and deserve. Believe in that tonight, trust in that tonight, and know that the creator of the universe chose You!
