I’ve wanted to get off Facebook for awhile now. So much time, so much comparing, so much consumption.. But I’ve always said it’s part of my ministry. Last night I was really feeling tired of all the pressure of social media. Do you know there are four different social media apps right now (probably more smaller ones.) That is crazy to me! So being tired of all it, I deleted them all off my phone. But this morning in my quiet time, I read John 14:27 and I felt a real big urge to post it for everyone preparing to endure the same day I was about to endure. Later at Gray’s funeral, the first verse read was John 14:27 and I felt God saying “I’m here. I’m right here.” He never leaves us, He is never apart from us. He is right here.
That’s one thing in the service today that was really stressed. God never left Gray’s side.
From the moment of conception to our last breath, God is here.
“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous- how well I know it.
You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out, before a single day had passed.
How precious are your thoughts about me, O God.
They cannot be numbered!
I can’t even count them;
they outnumbered the grains of sand!
And when I wake up, You are still with me!”
No day is a surprise to God. Nothing surprises Him and nothing separates us from Him.
He chose us. He adopted us. And He will never leave us or forsake us.
