Do you know how easy it is to believe Satan?
Ruthie Dean is amazing and these two posts might just change your life..
“Courage means to tell the story of who you are with your whole heart.”
“The best part of admitting failure is it gives the people around us the chance to see more of Jesus. It’s such a beautiful gift to know that Jesus picks us up when we fall, brushes the dirt off our faces, and says “I forgive you. Carry on.”
“I may have done something bad, but I am not bad. I may have made a mistake, but I am not a mistake. I may need to workout more, get up earlier, or learn better portion control, but those parts of me don’t define me.”
I have been in such a funk lately, I feel like I keep saying that over and over but I just cannot get my act together. Satan is definitely using that against me. But I came across Ruthie Dean’s blog someway or another on the internet last night (and Rochelle Frazier will rock your world every time.) And I read two of her posts last night and I feel like a whole new person. The breath of fresh air it was to read these two posts lit a fire in me!
How many times has satan used your sin against you? Do you know that when Jesus died on the cross for you, all your sins for the rest of your life were forgiven. When you believe in your heart that God sent His one and only son to die for you and you accept Him as your personal Lord and Savior, your sins are forgiven. You ask God for forgiveness and He not only forgives you, He forgets. Satan is the only reason your sins are brought back to you.
I am no where close to perfect. I have struggled my whole life to be as close as possible to perfect. And I’ve had way too many people think that I am. I am not. I don’t drink underage, I’ve never smoked (yes, I think smoking is a sin), I don’t sleep around, I’ve never cussed, I don’t listen to dirty music.. the list could go on an on of common teenage sins that I’ve unfortunately heard “You don’t fill-in-the-blank, why not? You’re a teenager, all teenagers do that.” to too many times. Though my sins might not seem as public or not like most of the teenagers around me, I still sin and all sin is equal at the foot on the cross. “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
I’m not here to tell you you’re a sinner and you should be ashamed. Or that I’m better than all teenagers because I don’t sin like them. Trust me, I sin just as much. I’ve sinned major and Jesus Christ is the only reason I am still standing today. I fail miserably to meet His standards and His requirements every day but it by grace I have been saved, through faith, and this is not from me, it is the gift of God. (Ephesians 2:8) Same for you, if you accept Jesus Christ into your life John 10:28 “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of My hand.” You are His. No matter what you’ve done or what you’ve said, that is not who you are. You are not defined by your past. You are defined by your Savior and what you do and what you say because of Him.
